How would you (or your character) make CHANGE happen here?

See the video. Your character has been entrusted with the care of this child. What circumstances brought that about? What lifestyle changes will that mean for the child in this video? And since all good dramatic stories show an evolution of character, how will this child be changed by her contact with you and YOUR culture? How will your character be changed by his/her contact with the child? Will it be a lifelong change or only temporary? What "ripple" effect will the changes have?
